Timeline hotkey controls overriding Trimmer Vegas Pro 9
This is my first post to the forum here, so I hope this is in the right place. I’m fairly new to Sony Vegas Pro 9, but have been messing with video audio editing for a couple years.
Initially I was trying to enable pauseplay using the space bar, and I didn’t know there was a selection in options. So I was changing the hotkeys. Then, of course, I couldn’t remember exactly what I’d done 🙁 So I reset Vegas Pro 9 to original global default settings. Then I enabled space bar play pause under options. However, other hotkeys I’d changed b4 the global default reset, are still enabled. How do I reset all hotkeys to original global default settings? Right now if I activate the trimmer window when it is docked or undocked, the pause play preview option with space bar works fine. If I enable full screen preview with the trimmer, I see the trimmer preview where it is paused. But if I hit the space bar to play, the trimmer image doesn’t move and I hear the timeline playing (escaping to normal trimmer size confirms that the timeline is playing) If I start the trimmer preview when trimmer is docked, the preview plays. If I then switch to fullscreen it continues to play the trimmer preview. But if I then hit the spacebar to pause, it again activates the timeline. I have ensured that “Enable Timeline Overwrite” is depressed. Tried unclicking and clicking it again. I want to view the trimmer in fullscreen to see fine detail for edit points. i want to be able to just use simple hotkey functions, like pauseplay, and step frames forward back using arrow keys. For the actual editing I can just reduce to normal docked trimmer. Any suggestions on how I can enable some basic hotkey functions while in full screen trimmer mode would be appreciated. Or pointing me to a tutorial that covers this particular aspect of the program.
Thanks. I’ve already picked up many, many good tips by reaidng previous forum posts.
