TimeLine Audio Sync off 4 frames
I have mp4 source video on timeline. It plays audio 4 frames off of the video. (ALL Videos play that way both in time line and preview).
The same mp4 source video plays in PERFECT audio video sync in VLC player.
Please help me resolve the Sony Vegas lack of audio video sync issue.
Other info: I-7 processor, Asus Motherboard with 32GB RAM, and onboard Intel Graphics (6400). I dedicated in Vegas options 6GB for Preview and moved up to 15GB…but no change in problem). Audio card is professional Lynx running ASIO mode. (problem still exists when using Windows Sound Mapper). I’ve change Vegas latency option settings..problem still exists…so returned setting to ‘automatic’.

Have you rendered this source video and the audio still came up out of sync?

That’s a new one. How are you determining that it’s exactly 4 frames for every mp4? Regardless, you can fix this in Vegas before rendering by moving all the audio events four frames in the direction needed to get them back in sync. If you have a lot of clips on several track and don’t want to do that for every individual events, you can use the ctrl+a to select every event in your project and hit the u key. This ungroups every audio event from the video event it’s normally grouped with then you can click on every audio event holding the ctrl key down to select every audio event in your project and then hit the G key to group just the audio events. Then zoom way way in so you can see individual frames and drag anyone of the audio events four frames in the direction you need and all the audio events will follow.

I agree with Steve. Have you rendered this source video and the audio still came up out of sync? It sounds as if you’re basing this on preview performance. I don’t think it’s valid to compare Vegas “preview” with VLC “playing” performance. If your rendered video is indeed 4 frame off, then you can do what Danny suggests.

Is the audio in the front of video, or behind?
Have you tried not altering the .mp4 and rendering it to something like xdcam, or DV and seeing the problem persists?
