    Hi,

I am finishing the edit of a feature film shot in 35mm at 24fps. Telecine in PAL 25 fps. Editing on a 24@25 fps sequence.
We are currently scanning the negative footage in DPX 2k files.
There were no problem what so ever when we edited the edl and cut lists for the lab.
However, the colorist asked for a consolidated project that would match the exact amount of footage scanned (meaning each edited clip + 4 frames handles) as well as an updated cinema tools database. He uses the software Speed Grade for grading. Apparently he uses the consolidate from his own FCP to be able to conform the 2k project.

So that’s what I’m trying to do… Media manage my master sequence with 4 frames of handles…and it’s totally driving me crazy.

FCP does the job, but when it opens the consolidated project the new master clips have a different timecode. And therefore it’s useless to update the cinema tools database because if the timecodes are wrong the keycodes will be too…

Don’t hesitate to ask me for clarification… I don’t know if this makes sense!

    Any idea?

    Thank you.
