Timecode navigation using source timecode
Hello, Here is what I would like to do. I know in avid land i can dump a bunch of testimonials into a timeline that have been shot on different days so the timecode is different. I can then load that sequence into the source monitor and from the timecode menu tell the sequence in the source to use the source timecode from tape to navigate. If I do this in fcp i am limited to just the sequence time. Is there a way to do this? Same goes for navigating in the viewer with a sequence open. Say I want to use timecode reference from the source and not the sequence timecode. There surely must be a way. This is most useful. I know I could just matchframe but that’s the easy way out.
We don’t want to be limited to always navigating with sequence time. That is what the floating timecode window is for. This new timecode viewer is a big step for final cut but still very limiting.
I also find that is doesn’t give me info when parked on a clip in the timeline. I have to matchframe it to get the label displays. Kinda wonky.Thank you,
