Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy timecode dub?

  • Posted by Coastalfog on April 21, 2006 at 4:40 am

Hello I’m hoping someone here can can help.

I would like to print my timeline out of FCP to tape but i’d like the timecode of the timeline to display on that tape along with the footage so the client can give me an edit list at the correct times.

Is this possible? and if so how?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Fog,

This has to be the second most frequently asked question. The first is, “Why do I get dropped frames?”. Look to your left of this text. See the menu that says “search”. Open it and type in the words “Timecode window”. Go back a few months and you’ll see dozens of posts addressing this feature.

You can also open up FCP and use the “help” key there. Search the FCP manual for the same term,”Timecode window” and you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Don’t ya just HATE to waste a perfectly good “search” lecture?

    Buy don’t worry.

    SAVE it.

    Because…

    The TC window dub, or
    I’ve got dropped frames, or
I can’t see my output through the camera, or
my FW is not responding, or
why does my effect look bad in the Canvas, or
    my timeline stutters, or
    my slo-mo looks bad, or
    what DPI is best, or
can I filter my bad audio, or
    my audio is slipping, or
my Wide Screen bars move, or
    my titles look bad, or
I can’t hear audio during capture, or
    how do I make a freeze-frame, or
how do I blur a face, or
how do I import a DVD, or
how do I capture 4 channels of audio, or
how do I get a better green-screen, or
why can’t I add a dissolve between clips, or
(my personal favorite) how do I make my video look like FILM…

…questions will come up again tomorrow (or by Monday, at the latest.)

    😉

Well, I don’t think we have to worry too much about THAT. 😉
