Hey, I’m working on a G5 in FCP 5.0 with DVCPRO HD 720p24 settings. We captured our footage from an HD1200A, but now we want to be able to do timecode-accurate layoffs, and it seems the HD1200A is not suited for this (even through our Kona Card). What options do I have?

HDCAM, D5 are options on the higher end. You can rent an AJ-HD1400 deck. I have laid back accurately to a 1200 deck, I just had to find the right offset. 9 frames was my magic number. But the client wouldn’ t take a DVCRO HD master, so we mastered to HDCAM.
