Time remapping many layers in the same comp with soundkeys is making me crazy.
Hey there
I am hoping someone out there can explain/offer solution to this problem I am having with time remapping many layers in the same comp.
I have slimmed down my explanation below, but ultimately I plan on using 20+ layers. And, I am having the same issue when using 2 or 3 layers in the same comp. What I am trying to do is… cut between a bunch of video layers while they are time remapped via an output from sound keys.
Here is my setup-
Main comp 29.97 contains:
1x Soundkeys layer
3x 29.97 video layers
1x music layer(driving sound keys)The music track plays continuous through out the Main comp.
While I cut between each (time remapped) video layer.
I have trimmed in and out of each video layer and arranged them so they cut between each other.Sound Keys-
Falloff- None (integrate)
Min-.01
Max-1I have also enabled time remap on all the video layers and added this expression to it-
timeRemap+thisComp.layer(“SK”).effect(“Sound Keys”)(“Output 1”)
All of the layers speed up in time with the music, just fine.
The problem I am running into is that after the first layer, all the other layers’ In Points change from my original value. When I slip the layers there is no effect on their in points.I am thinking there is another variable I need in the expression having to do with the layer’s in point and the main comp’s time…? However the solution is beyond me.
One more thing about my final project, the 20+ clips I am using only come from about 8 pieces of source material.
I have already tried pre-comping all the video layers within the main comp and that had no effect.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
