I can’t find anyone with a similar problem on any forum. I am trying to run trial CS6 Premier on a MacPro 2 x 2.4 GHz Quadcore with 8 gigs ram and ATI Radeon HD 5770, OS 10.6.8, and I can’t get anything to playback in the timeline. It plays for a few frames and stops. I render the timeline and still stops after a few frames. Is there some preference I need enable? CS5 runs same media (MP4) fine.

I did send a sequence to AME and that plays fine.

I logged in with Adobe ID. It opens and goes through a normal launch, asking whether new or existing project, etc. When I select either, it says “Licence software” or “continue with trial.” I select “trial” Is there a trial serial number I’m supposed to enter?

This didn’t work for me. Finder, Spotlight or myself could not find the file.

    Any other suggestions?

    I’m on OSX 10.6.8 in Pr 6.0.1

I’m having the same problem (or similar). Since I installed CS6 the timeline won’t play even if I click the play icon. Also won’t play in CS5.5

I don’t find that file in the Preferences folder either.

1.Create a new sequence that has the same attributes of the one that wont play.
    2. Open the sequence that wont play and COPY.
    3. Go to NEW sequence and Paste.
    4. Hopefull that will fix it.

I had this problem as well. Some think that the Player was retooled between 6.01 and 6.02. Hence the issue. It solved the media and playback issue on my system nicely.

Thanks Tom, but that didn’t do it. I noticed you mentioned ver 6.01 and 6.02

My version is 6.0.0 and it was just delivered two days ago so i figured it was the latest version. Maybe I should look for 6.0.2 update?

Well, its always good to be current for bug fixes (in most cases) but the fact that the cut/paste issue didnt help suggests to me it might be a completely different issue.

Thanks, I’ll try the update. Every “brand new” product in my just purchased CS6 Production Premium Suite needs to be upgraded so I’m sure it’ll take awhile. I’ll update when it gets resolved.

    Hi Al Johnson,
    Did you ever resolve this?

Having a similar issue, and after days of trouble shooting, I haven’t solved it.
