just got a new Sony HDR-HC3 cam. loving it. but trying to do a time lapse on FCP. the camera for interval setting is only done with the digital camera function. so it will take a frame every minute. used the function for 120 min…so came up with 120 images. how do i edit this down to create a smooth time lapse with the images rather than using a film clip?

Import the stills into FCP after you set the still frame duration to 1 frame in the FCP user preferences. Then edit them in a sequence by dragging them all to one. Render…

Or use quichtime pro, open them as an image sequence then render it to the codec of your choice. This way you have an actual clip to work with in FCP or any other app.
