time flicker?
i thought there was an effect call time>flicker. but i think i must be thinking of fcp. so how do i make an image turn on and off at an interval?

You probably want the Strobe Light effect with the “Make Layers Transparent” option.

Man, I hate that effect. It works based on time, not frames so it’s a bit unpredictable, and hard to tweak. Thanks heavens guys like Dan Ebberts have made expressions easy to understand because…
I did a tutorial on making a TV screen, and in it I cover making a flickering white bar – maybe that will help you, since it uses 3 keyframes and an expression to make it flicker – takes a minute to set up, if even that. You can easily adapt it to your footage.
