I have a re- occurring problem with shoots that run long – past 5 minutes. The audio starts having problems syncing with the lips. It’s off by a few frames. I am shooting on a HVX200 and P2 format in HD 24p. I bring it into final cut on a 720 24p setup. I have had the same problem with several projects…

    PLease help!

    Thanks

That’s odd, because when we shoot with the HVX in the DVCPRO HD 720p 240n format, he have PERFECT sync. We only have sync issues when we shoot Varicam, where the audio happens 2 frames before picture. I simply slip the audio 2 frames as I cut it in and move along. Become habit.

I remember I did capture DVCPRO HD from a tape to my laptop and we were SEVEN frames off. Again, just slipped.

But never had HVX footage lag. Odd. DO what I do…slip the audio to get back into sync once you are on the timeline.

In System Settings, change the playback offset to 0. That usually solves that issue.
