Time Code Reader filter and nested sequence
Posted by Michael Lazar on November 21, 2005 at 1:34 amIs there a known problem with the Time Code Reader filter when it’s applied to a track in a sequence that’s then nested into another sequence?

November 21, 2005 at 6:50 pmNo, there are no unknown problems. The problems are all known.
Which one are you experiencing?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

November 21, 2005 at 7:05 pmGood to know that I may be experiencing a known problem. ;->
Two undesirable symptoms:
1- After an edit, the TC reported for the nested sequence is incorrect – it should be reading TC from the source clip in the nested sequence but instead reports values which are (I think) relative to the current sequence instead. I was able to correct this by doing something to the nested sequence that required it to be re-rendered (e.g. adding a lower-third some place). However, after the next edit, the TC reverts again to the incorrect value.
2- If I turn the TC Reader off at the source clip, TC is still displayed when the sequence is viewed from w/i the nest. I corrected this by reducing then restoring the opacity of the sequence in the nest. [Note: I suspect the same trick might have for #1.]
