    Hi I am using CS5.

I wanted to make a window burn of interviews for a client.

I dropped the timecode filter onto the clip, and it doesn’t show up.

Even if I change it to generate.

I tried nesting the entire time line and repeating the process and still nothing.

I checked to make sure my opacity for the filter was 100 Percent and still nothing.

This was footage shot with a Panasonic video camera at 720 30P
It was captured into Final Cut Pro as Pro Res by another editor.

Now I am working in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5

Any ideas on what I am missing?

Are you working on Lion? This issue was fixed in CS5.5 (5.5.2) on Lion (it was Lion specific if that wasn’t clear) but I don’t know if Adobe addressed it in the 5.x series.

Are you running 5.5.2? (that was the update which fixed the lion-related timecode overlay issue.)

The other thing we discovered, using a timecode preset that matches our requirements is that it references XY positioning in absolute relation to the original source clip.

So, say you have 1080p clip with the burn-in running in the upper right hand corner. Then you apply the preset to a 720p clip, it may very well be offscreen.
