Is there a way to have the amount of time between the in and outs automatically calculated and shown as part of the time code overlays – or anywhere else. ALWAYS used this feature on my Avid – can’t find it anywhere here.

    FCP5.04

    Thank you

You mean an In and Out marked in the Timeline? It’s in the duration value in the Canvas.

    All the best,

Or do you mean the duration of the current clip underneath the playhead? No way to do that in FCP except by using Open playhead sync and having the clip automatically load into the viewer.

Thank you – HOW DUMB of me. I have a second monitor over my 30 inch that has a foot hanging down. It hides that value – never saw it. I looked everywhere. Had to move the canvas to see it.

Appreciate your getting right back to me.
