When nest a sequence with all the clips in the timeline and apply the
timecode effect. I can not get it to generate timecode from the media.

If I apply the timecode effect to single clip, the generate media from timecode functions properly. Is there another work around or am I doing something wrong.

[Alvin Lowery] “When nest a sequence with all the clips in the timeline and apply the

That’s because the nested sequence is the media. To get the timecode of the actual clips you’ll have to put the timecode effect on the actual clips. It gives you the timecode of whatever the affect is applied to.

Thankfully, applying an effect to a bunch of clips all at once is easy.

Select the first clip and apply the Timecode affect and set all the settings as you want them.

Second, click on the name of the Timecode effect in the Effects panel to select the affect, and hit copy.

Then Select all the other clips in the timeline and hit paste. (not paste effects, just paste.)
