    Hey Cow People,

I am working on a G5 in FCP 6.0.2 along with QT Pro 7.4.1 (everything is up to date yet when I bring this AE tiff sequence into QT and convert it into an Animation QT artifacts show up and it looks all wonky. Shot in question is an explosion and up till today this has always looked fine – the last few weeks i have been working in Phot Jpeg settings in FCP and thus receiving and/or making QT’s from animators into JPEG. Today I switched to Animation and made a new sequence with this setting because we are delivering in animation 1024×576.

Specs on the tiff seq and the fcp project are as follows: the frame size is 1024×576, 30fps – in FCP i have my sequence settings set to be the same and in QT pro when i export the tiff sequence I have the quality at best millions and the same frame size as before mentioned. I have also tried millions+ just to see if that would help but of course it makes no diff.

To post for the client I had to bring all the tiffs into the Avid in order to meet my deadline but I have been doing this entire project in FCP and would like to stay with this platform.

Is there an issue with artifacting in qt when bringing in tiff sequences? I need serious help please anyone who can help me – this job delivers tomorrow.

Thank you and i would be happy to trouble shoot and answer questions in order to get this done right and on time.

Try brining the tif sequence to Motion and render from there.

I was using qt pro – i just tried checking the keyframes all thing and it seems to resolve the issue but i am exporting now from fcp so i will have to see if it truely worked – any ideas on this stuff?

    thank you for your replies

Sean I’m curious why you are not rendering an animation QT directly from AE. I’m fully on board with the security of rendering image sequences. Since that’s now done I’d bring that back into AE and render an animation QT. AE plays better with image sequences then QTPro.

Originally the AE designer DID give me an animation QT out of AE and the artifacting was in the shot – so then i asked him to just give me a tiff sequence and it was not in those frames – so when checking add all key frames the problem dissappeared.

Not sure what this is about but i have never had to use the key frames option in qt pro – anywho it seems to be resolved i just want to know now what this might have been.

thank you everyone for taking the time to reply
