I have some early 90’s news footage delivered to us on Beta. Who knows how many generations removed from the original it is. At this point it is relevant as I have to use it. I am going from SD Beta through a Kona 3 into 1920×1080 ProRess 422. The shot is an aerial and there is a long white fence in the shot that is vibrating horribly. I have tried de-interlacing, using Video Purifier, de-interlacing in Compressor, recapturing, putting a blur on it. Does anyone have a tip on how to reduce this?

Is it like that on the tape…just playing it back? You might try running it through a TBC (Time Base Corrector), but that’s a shot in the dark. If that doesn’t do it…then you might have to give the tape to a big post house with experienced engineers to see what they can do.
