Thoughts about this raid?

LaCie Biggest S2S 2,5 TB / SATA II 3Gb/s / 5 Bays x SATA II 3″5/ PCI Express card.
Been offered this raid for 2000 US.D, including taxes. ( 25 percent )
1: Is this a good RAID for HD? Uncompressed?
2: Is this RAID noisy? ( Can I keep it in the same room as I sit and work in? )3: If I nedd to hook it up to a MBP as well – are there SATA cards for the MBP?
