What model mac do you have?

It’s an iMac with:

16 GB of memory
Mac Pro Start Up Disk
2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor
OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 software.

I have more than enough space, I mean, I can seamlessly run Photoshop, After Effects, The internet and Final Cut Pro X at the same time with speed. I’m confused as to why I get this message.

You find your iMac version by clicking the Apple icon and selecting ‘about this mac’. As long as your iMac is newer than 2007 your mac should qualify.

I used the serial number to try to find the make and model and It says:

Intro: August 7, 2006* Disc: January 8, 2008

Does this mean mine is out of date? (Please tell me the Disc is what counts :/ )

What does the ‘about this mac’ say is the year model?

Super late, my bad.

It doesn’t say the year it was made. Only the standard dates 1986-2015.

I’ve used the serial number several times to find the make and model, but I fear that this is the older one that can’t be upgraded.

The backend system will automatically detect whether the machine is eligible for the new update. If says no, then probably your machine is kind of out dated.
