January 6, 2007 at 1:58 amThe Panasonic TH50 series have always been my favorite plasma display, but keep in mind the reason there are so many of them being used in trade shows and other public forums also has to do with Panasonic’s liberal marketing policy. They seed lots of these displays to “partners” for little or no money so we patrons will see and fall in love with them. That being said, I personally prefer the Westinghouse LVM series over ANY plasma display. But that’s just me !

January 6, 2007 at 2:30 amI’ve not seen the Westinghouse yet, but so far I’ve seen nothing that’s as good as our Panny displays. Paired up with our Sony PVML5’s they look so good we turn off the PVM’s and the client will watch the fully color corrected shows on our 50″ model and soon the 42″ will be up and running.
I know Bart has a critical eye when it comes to displays so I’ll be interested in seeing how these compare to the Panny. Like I said, nothing I’ve seen comes close.

After I bank my first $100 Million! :-pHey are you guys getting any delay values with either the 50″ Panny or Westinghouse? On my 42″ client-side Panny, I get a small delay (I think something like 30 milliseconds or something if I remember) which I can dial out by the use of a digital delay setup. Without it, it feels about a frame off sync. Curious if these newer display models have eliminated this or not.
Thanks,

I have FCP set up in a 2 frame offset when using the Panny display with 1080i material. With 720p we go with 0. Not sure why, but there you go.
