  • Thin black line at top when export to FLV from premiere

Posted by Alex Ezorsky on November 3, 2009 at 9:28 pm

    Here is my situation:

    Footage: 1920×1080 square mpeg2
    Sequence: 720×480 .9
Export: FLV scaled to 640×480 (obviously square)

The final result, when played in flash player, has a very thin line at the top. There is no thin line when viewed in Premiere, and when I go 1 pixel up or down on the width or height in the export scale, it just makes bars on the sides thicker. The only video I have successfully exported as flash near these constraints was done via AE.

Why is this sooo difficult with premiere? Any help?

Have you tried enabling the “crop” in Media Encoder before you export?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried cropping 1 or 2 pixels off the top and now I get even thicker black lines on the top and bottom. Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Try 648 instead of 640.

If cropping off the top/bottom gives you thicker borders, crop off the left/right.
