There’s this one transition…..
So elementary. But I don’t know what’s wrong. I do all my editing with AVI proxy files as my old PC struggles with even those. Is this the problem? Maybe 90% of the time I have no problems with transitions, but, as always, it’s the 10% that drives you up the wall. So I know that there a couple of ways to dissolve clips into each other; I can just drag one on top of the other or I can butt them up together and insert a preset transition. On those rare 10% occasions, no matter which method I use, instead of a smooth dissolve I get a choppy, unpleasant transition that flashes back and forth from the two clips until the second one becomes full frame. And it doesn’t seem to matter which transition I choose, it just doesn’t like it. All subsequent clips will transition just fine, but no matter what I do this one transition does that so the only alternative is to separate the two clips and do a fade to black on the first followed by a fade in on the next. That’s what I’ve done previously when this arises, but I’m tired of it plus I really don’t like using the fade to black all the time. Any suggestions?
