Over the past year, I have seen many posts about CleanerXL not working with 8bit and 10bit DeckLink QuickTime files (they just show up as a “green” screen). Also, Cleaner 5 can read the files ok, but has a 2gb limit. The answer to both problems is to make a QuickTime reference file. Poof! The files work fine in both XL and Cleaner5.

    Hope this helps some people.

Thanks for that tip, it was big problem for us a while ago and I eventually gave up on it. Just to clarify you just open it in QT pro and save a reference file into the same folder? I’ve had so much trouble with the reference quicktimes coming from Mac to PC that I’ve always stayed away from them.
