I’m an Avid editor working with 24pA (Advanced = 2:3 pulldown done in the camera) footage.

    – It looks jerky. Is 24pA a bad idea?
    – Why use it when I have 2:3 pulldown capabilities in the avid (so just use 24p)?

if you take the time to read the article at the link below you’ll probably have the answers to all your 24p/24pA questions. Don’t worry about the fact that the article uses Final Cut Pro and the Panasonic DVX100A as examples: the process will be the same for your Avid workflow.

    Thanks Don,

as a preferrer of 24P with only a limited brain pan, this article helped alot until my brain exploded.

I’ll have to try reading it several times to see if I can absorb more and explode less.

No wonder the popcorn costs so much!

Any other pointers for getting XL2 24p in/out of the editing system (FCP) are appreciated.

    Regards,
