Ah, transform. Not the first time I’ve heard this mentioned in relation to the undo bug. The last time the thinking was transform wasn’t being closed out with the Done button.

    All the best,

    Tom

This caption is now regularly causing the “undo” bug, I’ve been making 6 films and pasting the same caption on to the interviewees and then typing in the correct details. When I paste the caption, it’s fine, when I enter the first line of text then “undo” greys out and autosave stops.

Try as I might I can’t make that happen. Sounds like it’s gotten corrupted somewhere and is now carrying the bug around with it. I wonder if a new copy would clean it up.

I presume as soon as you see it you relaunch FCP and the undo list comes good.

    All the best,

    Tom

I never experienced a corruption issue in any version of FCP like I’ve seen in X.

And you’re right Tom, you can’t shake it by creating new projects and copying content. I had a spot that I simply couldn’t rebuild from scratch and the agonizingly slow performance, plodding and crashing it took to fix what the bug caused was like working with 4k footage in PP 1.0 on a Quadra.

Even after I was able to output it, it actually showed random color blocks in the Pro Res master.

It’s an ugly X side effect.
