May 17, 2005 at 7:51 pmMy main edit suite in my facility is basically everything that I wanted to implement…
https://www.creativecow.net/articles/solorio_marco/tbc-review/index.html
This suite is based around AJA Kona2 + Kbox and AJA iO 2R version. Full digital and analog implementation from SD to HD. The latest addition: FinalTouch HD + JLCooper MCS3000/Spectrum control surface. Oooooo baby!!!
Although we have a much larger ProTools setup in the audio control room for actual recording/mixing/scoring purposes, we do have a smaller ProTools Mbox setup in the main edit suite. We don’t necessarily use it in FCP, but rather use it on its own with the PT software for quick audio fixes/mixes or VO stuff. All audio goes to the Tascam DM-24 digital mixer as pictured. Anything more serious goes to the audio control room which has many more audio toys to play with.

May 18, 2005 at 6:29 amWe just installed this system (pretty much). Only real differences are that we are using firewire drives (until we can afford/ need to go to something bigger and better). We also put in a Panasonic 50″ Plasma HD client monitor – for the wow factor. We decided that 50″ was important to us as we still work mainly in 4:3.
So far – everything is real nice.

Yes, definitely for the wow factor! Because these things sure do look like crrrrrrap! I simply see it as a marketing tool… and it **works**. I wont be ditching my client-side plasma any time soon! 😉
