    The select backgroung color for comp doesn’t work

    I have AE 6.5 professional version for Mac OS 10.3.9

    Under COMPOSITION in the menu is the select background color function, but it doesn’t work. I select a color, but the background remains as the gray and white default checkerboard patter.

    Does anyone know why this is happening and how it can be fixed?

    there is a button at the bottom of monitor window to disable the checkerboard.
