  • The “select background color function” for comp doesn’t work

Posted by Highlandman on November 30, 2006 at 1:56 pm

I have AE 6.5 professional version for Mac OS 10.3.9

Under COMPOSITION in the menu is the select background color function, but it doesn’t work. I select a color, but the background remains as the gray and white default checkerboard patter.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how it can be fixed?

    Thanks

The background color is a placeholder for transparancy when you decide to render without an alpha channel.

You have the choice of viewing your comp on ‘alpha’ meaning the checkerboard pattern, or the background-color.
There’s a little checkerboard icon in your comp viewer window to switch modes.
