    The media library Default could not be opened – ideas?

    Hi, I now have Vegas 6, 8, 10 and 11 installed. A few months ago when we upgraded our computer and I reinstalled Vegas 6 and 8, I started getting an error message each time I open any version “The media library Default could not be opened”.

    Now even with the new Vegas 11, I am still getting the same message. I’m not really sure what it means.

    Please can somebody explain how to correct this? Thanks.

    Media Manager is not a separate installation. You probably have an old version from those previous Vegas installs. I would update to the latest version of Media Manager 2.4 and that should fix things.

    Hi John, that makes sense and yes, I did have an old version, 2.0. So I uninstalled version 2.0 and installed version 2.4 and I’m still getting exactly the same error message. I tried Vegas 11 and 10 and got the errror message on both, haven’t tried it on 8 or 6 yet.

    You might want to create a new default library. It’s possible that the old library you have is not compatible.
