  The infinite aspects of mattes or a plugin

  Mattes used in every aspect of their capabilities is mind boggling. Well for me,anyway. Since my exposure to after effects is not quite 2 weeks yet. Being a complete master of masking combinations, alpha channels and luminosities seems to be for an expert creating plugins.

  Do I spend hours learning to master 75% of the capabilities of masks or do I just use a plugin?

  I mean I’m really good with frozen dinners and the microwave but I can’t cook. Frozen dinner = Plugin
  Gormet cooking = a near complete understanding of masks
