I’m not sure if YouTube has the wherewithal yet to manage and distribute original content. I think YouTube is a poor aggregator especially compared to Netflix for example.
Vimeo is taking a very different approach towards fostering talent and curating original content. They’re not focused on serialization though. I have a hunch they’re going to have an impact on the “indy film” market though.
