    Tom

Why 3D Camera Tracker is not usable here? I have seen some tutorials and there is an option for 3d Camera and Text in it which may help Stuart what he wants to achieve.

Here is the one I am talking about:

Vishesh, It conceivably could work since the only movement is the camera. I thought she was moving her arm as well. Only one way to find out, try them both and use which ever one gives the most satisfactory results. 😀

Stuart, if you dont wont to waste time learning to use the wrong technique, send me the clip and I will tell you which one you will get the best results from.

    Thanks so much guys.

Tom, I’d very much appreciate it if you could take a look at the clip for me. I think (as you point out) I’m just not quite sure which technique I need to use.

In the clip the talent is moving her arms a little (though certainly not excessively) so that could be the issue. However, I have since tried going back to basics by simply shooting a tabletop with a few high contrast markers on it and performed a similar camera move. My results are still unusable though, with the text sliding around a lot.

I’ve been trying all day to work it out and I’m about to go crazy!

I found your email address in your profile so if it’s OK with you I’ll email you the clip now.

    Very much appreciated.

    Stuart

Stuart I sent you an email with some observations. Also I sent the project back (tracked) by We Transfer. I hope you are on AE CS6 since that is what I used. See if you can replicate what I did so this becomes a learning experience. Good luck!

As it turns out , the solution that worked was using AE Camera tracker to track the shot, then manually tracking the motion of the person holding the camera. She did a little move in the middle of the shot.

Real life (and work) got in the way since the weekend but I’m hoping to give it a try tonight/tomorrow.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

    Stuart.
