Hey, folks. Bit of an urgent problem here. Someone at work sent me an AE file that I can’t open. The file was created on a Mac and I’m using Windows but obviously that shouldn’t matter. When I attempt to open the file, I get this message:

After Effects error: The file are attempting to open was created with After

Effects version 23.Ox15 (Macintosh 64) and cannot be opened with this version

See http://www.adobe.com/aftereffects for information on upgrading your software.

I’m not sure what to do about this. I thought the latest version of AE was 22.5.0 (which I am using). So I’m totally up-to-date here. Was this made in a beta version? If so, how would I get that?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Just found the beta section of Creative Cloud. This is promising. I’m going to install and give it a try.

Yes, as you note, there’s a public beta that you can access.

If you want to work with the project in the current main release, you can “Save As v22” from within the beta.
