The dumbest shit!!!
Posted by Jordan Schevene on February 6, 2014 at 1:43 amHow do I make it so when the playhead reaches the end of a timeline it just stops and doesn’t jump to the beginning? This is driving me crazy! I can’t find it in preferences and I can’t find it by searching on Google. In Final Cut 7 it is the default and it should be in premiere as well. It is little things like this that’s making the transition frustrating.
Sorry for the attitude and thanks if advance.

February 6, 2014 at 2:28 amMy timeline does exactly as you describe. When it reaches the end of the timeline, it just stops.
Check is that your program monitor doesn’t have looping enabled. See image below
1. This is how you get the program monitor menu up.
2. If you have a tick here, it will loop. Untick this setting

February 6, 2014 at 6:23 pmI don’t get all those options so it may be different depending on what version you have. I am using CS6 on Mac. Screen shot below.
Thanks for pointing out the ‘Play work area after rendering previews” this has always annoyed me. Gotta love the COW !!

February 6, 2014 at 6:42 pmYes, my screen shot was the CC version. So you won’t see those extra preferences in CS6.

February 7, 2014 at 1:13 amHi Declan,
“At playback end, return to begining when restarting playback” pref was added in CC. Sorry this is not a CS6 feature.
Best,

February 7, 2014 at 1:20 amIts ok, although CS6 doesn’t have a specific preference, the loop option in the program monitor achieves the same end.

February 7, 2014 at 6:37 pmIt is amazing how the littlest things can make editing really painful. Thanks everyone for your responses.
