The dreaded red screen glitch

This same problem has happened to me on Mac and Windows 7 with Premiere CS4. Has anyone had much better luck with CS5 or come up with any better solutions?
The red screen has become a constant looming burden that I now wait for to make my life that much tougher.

I’m seeing the same problem on CS6, with footage from a Canon C100 camera. Anyone have any solutions?

I just got my first one with C100 footage and the audio went strange- it played part of a track I dont even have in the sequence…. scary.
