I know I’ve said it before and I have to say it again, if you’re working in Final Cut Pro, you need to have this DVD.

“Getting Organized in Final Cut Pro” from Shane Ross
    https://store.creativecow.net/p/63/getting_organized_in_final_cut_pro

I’m in the starting stages of the first of three feature length documentaries with this particular one having about 75 hours of material. We have approx. 175 hours for all three docs. Organizing all of this is quite the chore and I went back today and watched the chapter on organizing a large project. It’s so simple when Shane explains it and it should help me to keep the project from bogging down badly as the project gets pretty big.

I find myself referring back to this DVD at least a few times a year. Organization is the root of many of the problems we see on these forums every day. I don’t care if you’ve been cutting on NLE’s since the early 90’s like me or you’re new to FCP, you should have this DVD in your edit suite at all times.

Sure we all want to learn the flashy cool stuff you can do in all the other apps in the Master Series, but just like sports, it all comes down to executing the basics.

Shane I completely agree with Walter.

I have just finished editing a documentary that
would have been impossible to keep organized
if I had not bought and watched your DVD.
I benefited immeasurably from deciding to watch it
    and pay attention.

I’ve used Shane’s DVD to train at least 10 assistant editors on documentary projects so they can properly capture media and organize bin ands projects for the editor to work with effectively and efficiently. They actually ‘get it’ after they watch it. I’ve even incorporated aspects of the DVD into the drams fold.

It’s a great investment in any workflow.
