Texture text sides
could someone please tell me how to put a texture on the sides of letters? every time i drag the texture i want to the side of the text it works and the texture only goes on the sides but it makes the faces of my text darker and some parts have lines in the final render. with uv mapping it end up like this
heres what i have so far 
in c4d and what i want to do is put a concrete texture on the sides like this, 
this was done by someone in c4d as well. and i was wondering if someone could tell me how to get rid of the annoying black horizon or at least turn it white without messing with the effect my sky is giving, i also have been wondering what it means to “have a alpha channel for just the text, to save having to cut it in photoshop”thanks in advance

When working with and Extrude Nurbs you can place a texture on the Faces using C1 (front face) C2 (back face) R1, R2 will get the rounding of the text.
So to answer you you will need to have a texture on the whole object that would be for your edges then you put another texture over for your faces… I believe this is covered well the help menu.To drop your horizon line add a background object and use a compositing tag to prevent the shadows.
