  • Texture baking vs. not texture baking

I have some confusion over when texture baking is required prior to exporting a model/scene. It was my understanding that textures will always require baking if you want them intact when exported. However, once I tried exporting a glb without baking (had an image texture in the color channel), and yet the texture was retained. I’m using S22. Is that just because simple textures with just a color channel do not have to be baked? I’m a bit uncertain as to what types of textures can be exported without baking and it would help streamline my process to know.

    Thank you!
