I have exported my C4D project to a .dae file. Could someone be so kind and explain, in the .dae file, what the texture and normal co-ordinates represent please?

Normals tell the program which way polygons should be facing. Texture, or UV coordinates, tell a program how textures should be wrapped around your object.
