Hopefully this will be an easy question to answer. I design a magazine and when I copy and paste text from Word into Indesign, I find that the text wraps sooner than it should– leaving space on the right side of the column. I can correct it by putting soft returns in at the end of each paragraph (the lines jump into the correct place) but this seems like a silly thing to have to do. And, when my editor goes into the file to make changes, should he change one of those paragraphs, the spacing gets completely messed up. Anyone have a fix for this issue?

Did you try “paste without formatting”?

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I tried that and it didn’t help. I also tried importing the text as an RTF and a few other tricks and nothing is making a difference. Surely someone else has run into the issue. Maybe it’s a CS2 thing?
