Text Tool crashing FCP 6.0.4

I have approx, 1800 fonts installed on this machine. That’s why I use Font Book to manage them. FCP 6.0.3 and OS 10.5.3 worked perfectly with all these fonts. I find it hard to believe the FCP and OS updates corrupted a font or two.

What I DO see that has happened is suddenly Font Book no longer works on the Octo Core. That’s probably an issue because now the Text Tool is trying to load up 1800 fonts. Normally I only keep about 200 fonts active at any given time. The Boris 3D title tool is handling the fonts just fine, but the Text Tool probably can’t.

I’m going to see if anything can be done to fix the Font Book first.

Walter, I upgrade the 8-core to 10.5.4 and FCP 6.0.4 so I could test. If I disable a font in FontBook and then restart the machine, it does not show up in the Boris title tool, so it appears that the FontBook is working on our 2.8 8-core……

Thanks, definitely not working here. Might be time to erase and re-install everything again.
