    I’m upset. No, I’m angry.

FCP6 has revealed a [sarcasm]pleasant[/sarcasm] little quirk that has caused me another several hours, if not days, worth of work. I have an HDV 1080i60 sequence with a mixture of HDV1080i60 media, DV NTSC media, and keyed HDV footage from Motion saved as Lossless+Alpha. After rendering, everything looked fine. I saved as a Reference Movie, imported into Compressor separately, and compressed with H.264 with current settings (bringing it to a full 1920×1080 frame). Once I open the file to do a final review before compressing for DVD, I notice that the PAR of the text elements (created in FCP) changes during simple fade in/out transitions. As the clip fades up, the PAR seems to be 1.33 (which would match with HDV’s apparent PAR). Once the transition completes, the text’s apparent PAR changes to 1, stretching it out to the intended length. Then when the fade out begins, it switches back to the scrunched up 1.33 PAR.

Any clue as to why it’s doing this?
