text not pasting – why??
I’m trying to paste some text into AFX from notepad. I’ve also tried from Illustrator. It doesn’t want to paste, no matter how much or how little text I select. I can paste from Illustrator to notepad, or from notepad to Illustrator, but when I copy and go to AFX, the “paste” command is greyed out, and control+V does nothing.

Did you start a text layer first??? then paste it?? You cant just copy text and go into ae and paste it and hope that it will create its own layer and everything.

yep, i made a text layer first! end of this thread i think, i rebooted afx and then it worked. i think my computer was just overworked and everything needed a 5min break. 🙂
