Text not crisp on DVD when played on Tube, LCD, Plasma..HELP
Hey Folks, first time posting here, hopefully I can pick your brains. I created a digital signage type loop for a trade show in 16:9 that will be played on DVD players hooked up to 42″ LCD’s. The end result is that it looks good but the text is not very crisp.
Workflow:
Final Cut set to NTSC DV 16:9
All text layers were illustrator files that were imported into Photoshop at 300 resolution and then cropped and exported as .png and imported into FCP where they were sized down and animated using motion keyframes. The final sequence was exported through compressor using the 90 minute mpeg2 2pass option. Then imported into DVD studio and burned.
Is there anything I should have done differently? Maybe a different sequence preset or compression setting? Could it be during the exporting or encoding process? Interlace issue?
Please if anyone could shine some light on the subject I’d be very appreciative and if there are already posts on this subject someone kindly forward me a link to it.
Thanks!
