Text Mosaic-trackmatte

The problem that I have is that I don’t know how to apply the trackmatte.Thank you very much.

Put the layer that you want to use as your track matte above the layer you want to matte out. It looks like in your case you should put the text above the picture.
Then on the timeline, on your face layer, look for the dropdown menu underneath “TrkMat” and change that to Luma Matte.
If you can’t see the TrkMat controls click on the tiny button second from the left in the bottom left corner of your timeline. It looks like an intersecting circle and square.
Ta da! One functioning track matte.
