Text line to circle around logo.
Hello,
AE newbie here (but routine video editor), I’m attempting a pastiche of something and need to a precise effect:
Flat ‘normal’ line of text to bend and wrap up in to circle, as per this video.
(Effect appears around 1:15, this is proper ‘nightmare fuel’ so I wouldn’t suggest watching the video, and turn down your speakers for the horrendously eerie synth motif!)
Any pointers as how to approach this gladly taken, I can work out how to move text to path in a circle, but not how to get from ‘flat’ to the circle?

Once you have made your text, select that layer and then draw a path with sufficient handles so you can animate it to both the beginning shape and the end shape. Inside the text parameters you can now select this path and the text will “stick” to the path and take on its shape. You will also have a new “mask” attributes in the text layer and you can animate the path as you would any mask. The text will cling to the path as it animates.
