    Hello, dumb question, but…

When creating text in AE, how do change the line order so that line 1 is on top of line 2?

For example, say I’m using a name like “tony BROWN” — tony on the first line, BROWN on line 2. The lowercase ‘y’ in tony is half hidden behind the BROWN text on line 2. Is there any way to reverse that order so that line 1 would be considered the top layer? I.e., so that the tail of the lowercase ‘y’ would be on top of the uppercase “WN” in BROWN?

I’ve been able to fake it with manipulating anchor points while selecting on the top line, but it seems as though there would be a much easier way.

    thanks!

Dave, I’ll try to clarify —

say that I don’t have any space at all between two lines (that’s how I want it) so that the text is sitting right on top of each other. How do I make it so that line one is in front of line two? Line two defaults as the ‘top’ layer, just wanted to see if it was easily changed so that line one could be the ‘top’ layer.

    Does that make sense?

I’d rather apply a text preset to one text layer, not two separate layers.

No big deal; the anchor point shift works, as would making two separate layers. I just thought I might have been missing something obvious.

    thanks,
