Text bulge Help
I’m trying to recreate the text distortion effect used in the titles for the film ‘sphere’

The effect i’m after occurs half way thru the sequence in the Marga Gomez credit.The text distorts around the edges of a circle. Its similar to using the Bulge Effect with bulge height=4, except the distortion occur around the edges of the circle not the center.
I tried changing the bulge height to -4 but the text doesn’t distort enough around the edges of the circle.Does anyone have any ideas how to create this effect.

Recipe:
- text layer
- adjustment layer on top of that with Distort -> CC lens
- black feathered circle on top of that
- smaller copy of text on top of that.
- Animate the text-positions and the lens-center position
- text layer

I didn’t have the cycore plugins installed but i’ve done that now, all working perfectly.
Life is so much easier with the right plugins.
