March 13, 2009 at 5:46 amThere are some stretchy-looking text animation presets on the Adobe website. You might be able to start with one of those and tweak it to suit your needs. For more information about text animation presets, see the “Text animation presets” section of After Effects Help.

Do you really mean After Effects 3? Or After Effects CS3? For After Effects CS3, the answer is yes. For After Effects 3, the answer is “Wow, you need to upgrade from that mid-90s software.”
Also I’m having problems saving the presets if you can even save them ?
I’m not sure what you’re trying to do. Instructions for applying, modifying, saving and otherwise working with animation presets in After Effects CS3 are here. If you follow instructions in that document and they don’t work for you, let me know exactly what you tried and how it failed, and maybe I can help.

March 13, 2009 at 8:55 pmThe web page just shows a preview of the animation presets that are included with After Effects. If you have After Effects installed, you already have these animation presets. Follow the instructions in “Apply an effect or animation preset” to apply an animation preset.
There’s more information about animation presets and text animation presets in After Effects Help.

March 13, 2009 at 9:43 pmAlright, that was alright but not what I’m after. What I would like to know is if there is an effect that you could scale in the middle part of the text but either keep the outside of the text the same size or scale it bigger using the least amount of control because I’ve tried some options in AE CS3 and there is usually to many anchor points to control and it doesn’t quite give me the effect I’m after.
