Testing Live Capture Plus
Hi there
I’ve downloaded the trial version of LCPlus for OSX and haven’t had success trying to digitize some DV tapes from a HVR M25J deck into a Mac Pro running 10.6.8
I can control the deck, set in & out points, etc but when I try to capture it just tries and tries until it stops and gives me a message: Failed to communicate with deck, please quit and restart Live Capture Plus. (failed to read any data within timeout)
Any help would be appreciated

do you have sufficient pre-roll at the head of the tape?
Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

Hi there, I think I figured it out!!
I was trying to digitize some tapes from a friend just to give it a try. The recordings were done with a NTSC camera and we are in PAL land so… It took me a few minutes to find out, switch Hz’s on the deck and voilà! It’s all working now.
